It is absolutely no exaggeration when I say summer (or even 2014 in general) has flown by. It literally feels like just the other week when I was in Vegas with my loved ones scarfing down Fat Tuesdays.
I’ve had quite the music-filled year, and have had the pleasure of attending a number of music events/festivals. Holy Ship, EDC Las Vegas, Digital Dreams and Veld are amongst the larger scale ones. Been ticking off a bunch of acts on my to-see list, and seeing a bunch of other favourites again (but the good ones always impress, no matter how many times I have seen them!)
Last week I headed down to Baltimore, Maryland to cover Moonrise Festival on behalf of Electric Sloth. For those of you who haven’t been, it’s about a 12-14 hour drive from Toronto. I have family there and it was great getting to visit and spend time with my Kuya Nick. I would like to thank him again for his hospitality and touring me around the town of Natty Boh. While I fought the urge to belt out “Good Morning Baltimore” everywhere I went (jk), it was interesting doing all the touristy things in the area considering I had been there in previous years, but hardly remember a thing since I was much younger.
In terms of the festival, you can read the review I wrote here. I also covered VELD fest in Toronto; click here to read! I’ve been getting in touch with my inner journalist, and as Milo and Otis would say, I like it.
The following will be a backwards documentation of my trip to Baltimore and some favourite photos shot at Moonrise.
Here’s to everyone’s enjoying what’s left of summer; and hoping I’ll be heading down to NYC again in the coming weeks for Electric Zoo! If anyone wants to send me there, please feel free to hit me up :3 haha
P.s. I have listened to Porter Robinson’s new album “Worlds” on repeat at least three times a day…please do your ears/heart a favour and check it out!
All aboard the Hogwarts Express - or rather, the Amtrak. Smooth ride allowed me to get some work out done. Weeeeeeeee
The most rewarding meal. I had planned to walk to Shake Shack from Penn Station during my layover. However, my train arrived late in New York, giving me approx. 30 minutes before closing. I scrambled around the station looking for a place to store my luggage, but no bueno. Carried/dragged my stuff 8th avenue at an ungodly speed while trying to ignore the beautiful smells of NYC. Made it right before closing and enjoyed the heck out of this.
Shroom burger + hamburger w/ bacon and shack sauce. Plus a half + half drink ofc.
SO WORTH THE RUN
Had another hour to spare, so I walked over to TImes Square to mooch off the Wi-Fi and take selfies like everyone else, except sans selfie stick
